一只可爱的小老鼠的故事，悲惨的开头，美好的结局，语言简单而有韵律，特别受到低幼儿童的喜欢，但我这个大人也很喜欢哟～小老鼠有了家人的爱，满足、幸福的感觉溢于言表，其实每个小孩子也都是这样的啊！

这是1970年出版的绘本，当年获得了美国图书馆协会推荐奖。这本书从一出版就倍受欢迎，而小时候看这书的孩子，现在都是大人了，有的竟然在结婚或过生日时还要爱人送这本书当礼物呢！做了父母的呢，把孩子抱在怀中讲自己小时候热爱的书，更是多了一份感动。

童年时看过的一本好书，走过岁月，积淀在内心的不仅仅是当时的欢喜，更是对生活更深刻的感悟。
